Getting Rid of Pimples is a Myth — Prevent Pimples Instead
Its easy to find tips about getting rid of pimples. Some of them may actually have some merit. Here is a sampling:
- Frequent ice packs
- Cleanse often
- Pimple Creams
- Avoid oily makeup
- Dab toothpaste (a new one to me)
- Avoid picking and squeezing
However, after battling pimples for many years, I concluded that none of the common tips helped much, if at all. One thing did make a difference: if I skipped cleansing my face before bed, I would get a pimple a few days later. Once that pimple appeared, nothing would get rid of it. I would torture my face with excessive cleansing, ointments creams, fingernails… to no avail.
After a couple of weeks, of course, the pimple would quietly disappear on its own. Young people, in particular — but also people of all ages — can be so busy that they can eventually get into the habit of occasionally just plopping into bed after a late night of work or play. In certain people, a few nights of that over a couple of weeks will see several new pimples. In my case, it happened reliably.
Consider this: over time, a few nights here and there without cleansing could result in several ‘mysterious’ new pimples. Many people would percieve this as a ‘breakout’ of pimples, not noticing that they appeared gradually and also not noticing that they appeared a couple of days after a night of not cleansing the face.
Admittedly, a young person, or a person of any age, may get tiny, annoying pimples just as penance for being vigorous and healthy. But, in many cases, the larger pimples are a direct result of not cleansing one’s face in previous nights.
I realize this theory is simplistic and may even offend some people but why not test it for yourself? Keep in mind you will have to wait while the existing pimples to disappear. In the meantime cleanse gently every night without fail. Maybe even treat your lovely face to some aloe vera to help maintain a healing moisture and a gradual build up of surface nutrients. See how your face looks after a few weeks. But again: do not skip a single night of gentle, loving facial treatment or you may find an unwelcome visitor (pimple) marring your precious face.
